LGB TRAINS

Apr 11th 2016

For those who don't know LGB toy trains are still around.  They first were bought by MARKLIN and the bought by Simba-Dickie-Group.    LGB trains are responsible for introducing "G" scale to model railroading.  LGB caused a revival of garden model railroading in the United States when it was introduced. Most of the rolling stock was made in china.  Production is now located in Hungary.  The first loco made under the LGB brand was a model of a small Austrian 0-4-0 named "Stainz." This loco appears in the LGB logo and is still in production today, although it now has a sound system and other mechanical differences to the original 1968 model. Most garden railway enthusiasts have at least one example of a Stainz in their collection as it tends to be a robust loco with good pulling power.                         Durability was one of the reasons the made LGB a very popular model train company.  To this day g scale model trains are still sought out. So for those G scale lovers LGB is still around.
