Plastic Model Aircraft Growing up in Lincoln Nebraska, the heartland of our nation, from my earliest days I can remember looking up to see F-4 Phantoms racing through the sky. While a 7-year-old mind is fascinated with everything fast and sleek, there were other planes flying missions out of our local national guard airbase. C-130’s transporting cargo across the sky and Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers daily flying mission across the globe to support our fighting men and women in their mission to guard the United States of America. Approximately sixty miles to our west in Bellevue Nebraska, Strategic Air Command Headquarters or SAC stood watch for decades ever vigilant for any aggression by our nations enemies. Looking up into the sky, I first developed my love of pilots and aircraft and could not wait to build a model airplane of my own. My dad and I assembled many model airplanes together from the F-4 Phantom to the British Supermarine Spitfire and we proudly displayed our creations.
