D Day

On the 6th of June, 1944, Western Europe was invaded by the Allies in the historic amphibious war. World War II lasted for 6 years from 1939 to 1945 and the D Day battle was fought between June 1944 and August 1944. The D Day battle was codenamed Operation Overlord and it began when about 156,000 American, Canadian and British forces descended on the heavily fortified 50 miles expanse of the Normandy region of France. The attack was one of the largest military amphibious attacks in the history of the world. The D Day attacks led to the freedom of Western Europe from the control of Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler. A countless number of glider troops and paratroopers had already landed on the ground at the dawn of the first D Day attack to secure exit roads and bridges behind enemy lines. The invasion started at exactly 6 o’clock in the morning. The Americans conquered light oppositions at the Utah beach while the Canadians and British also conquered and captured the beaches. However the American forces at the Omaha Beach faced heavy confrontation and suffered over 2000 causalities but the D Day invasion ended successfully. The beaches were completely secured in less than a week with over 50,000 vehicles, more than 326,000 troops and about 100,000 tons of battle equipment stationed at Normandy. Our D.Day toys are based on the principal actors of the American, Canadian, representing ground forces, artillery, paratroopers, military vehicles, D Day IKE and much more.
