Holt's Hobbies

Holt's Hobbies

Some of Bill Holt’s fondest memories were playing with dimestore toy soldiers of 1950’s. For decades, Bill thought that those days were gone for good along with drive-in movies and drug store soda fountains. In the early 1980’s while shopping for antiques with his wife, Bill Holt discovered a small collection of Barclay soldiers. After he purchased those, he went on to find more 1950’s toy soldiers and educated himself of the process of making hollow cast toy soldiers. Bill Holt took life by the horns and turned his passion for Toy Soldiers into a thriving business in 1980’s and 1990’s.

Bill Holt’s childhood love of 1950’s is apparent in each one his creations. While toy soldiers from Holt’s Hobbies can be displayed side by side with the best Toy Soldiers of 1950’s. His special blend of wit and style allow his creations to pay homage to 1950’s while still express his singular point of view.
