George Wood defected from William Britains and set up shop about 1900 and in time became Britains greatest competitor. Almost all of Johillco soldiers were hollowcast in a 54mm size and had a fairly dense range, ancient Romans, Boers, Arabs and Mahouts, Ethiopians to the usual mix of British and American troops along with American Indians and Cowboys. One of the most interesting factor to collectors was the issue of toy soldiers in far more positions than Britains. Another unique feature that accounts for their individuality is that they were sold separately rather than in sets.Trains and Toy Soldiers offers a large selection of buy it now Johillco Miniatures for both the serious and selective toy soldier collector.
