Product Description

It is difficult for someone living today to understand how unprepared the United States was for World War Two. In 1940, the United States Army had less than three hundred thousand men present and ready for duty. Just two years later, that number had increased more than ten fold and over three million men and women were in service. Scouting and transportation could no longer be effectively achieved by horse mounted soldiers. The Army need a new vehicle that could survive and thrive in an unpredictable and global battlefield. The Bantam Reconnaissance Car, later widely known as a Jeep, was designed and built to transport the United State Army across the world.  The Jeep which would be deployed from the frozen tundra of Alaska to the steaming jungles of the Philippines. While over six hundred thousand jeeps were made during World War two, Thomas Gunn Miniatures only plans on creating 100, so make sure that order yours today before they are gone.
