WBritain 32004 Federal Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer 1876. This fine representation of Colonel Custer is produced by WBritain exclusively for Trains and Toy Soldiers. It is a limited edition of 300 figures. 1/30 scale finished in a matte finish. George Armstrong Custer served as a military officer and commander in the American Civil War as a young officer. He gained fame for fighting against the Native Americans, Indians, in the West. Colonel George Custer died at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. Often referred as Custer's Last Stand he became a martyr for American expansionism. Born in New Rumley, Ohio in 1839 he spent a large part of his youth in Michigan and considered Michigan as his adopted home. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated last in his class. Serving as an officer in the American Civil War he got his first taste of war in July 1861, shortly after his graduation, at the First Battle of Bull Run in July 1861. Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument memorializes the US Army's 7th Cavalry and the Lakotas and Cheyennes armed efforts to preserve their way of life.
