The ever-present E7 could be seen in all forty-eight states from 1945 through the late '70's. By 1964, one-third of all passenger diesel were E7's. Performance was so outstanding that 83% of the roads that purchased them ordered additional units. 70% went on to order E8's or E9's.

The E7 became the recognized symbol of streamlined passenger service and was destined to herald in two new eras in modern railroading. During its production run (2/45 to 4/49) diesel passenger power, which comprised 9.5% of all locomotives in service, rose to 94.5%. Its nose design became EDM's standard for future passenger and freight locomotive styling.

Life-Like's PROTO 2000 E7 captures the sleek appearance and performance of the prototype. Take a good look at the model and notice the detailed molding on the grills, its sprung diaphragms, the perfectly contoured "Bulldog" nose and the laser quality printing.

The PROTO 200 E7 is available in powered A-units with two road numbers for each road and unpowered B-units with two road numbers for each road (where appropriate for the prototype).

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
