Super Deetail
William Britain has been a leader in toy soldiers for over one hundred years. In 1893, William Britain Sr. devised a new method of making military miniatures. Britain’s hollow cast toy soldiers allowed him to compete in both quality and price with the finest toy soldiers of the late 19th century. Until the 1950’s WBritain made metal toy soldiers exclusively, but in the 1959 William Britain acquired the Herald Company and began making plastic toy soldiers. From 1966 until the early 1980’s, William Britain made plastic toy soldier almost exclusively. Throughout the end of the 20th century, Metal military miniatures became a larger and large part of the W. Britain catalog and the importance of plastic toy soldiers diminished. Toy Soldiers might be thought by some outsiders as quaint industry, but the truth is the transition between metal and plastic comes from a constant drive to use the most cutting edge materials and design process to deliver the best toy soldiers in the world. In this tradition, WBritain introduced Super Deetail Plastic in 2006. Using the best plastics, molding techniques and paints available anywhere William Britain has continued the tradition of excellence for which they are famous. Trains and Toy Soldiers is proud to be an official WBritain dealership. If we can help you find the special item please call us at 1-800-786-1888.
