Train Accessories
Train collectors, train hobbyist, train modelers all know the importance of using the right accessories to embellish their diorama and/or train layout. Modeling a train diorama and/or layout can be as simple as adding a few bushes or as complex as constructing buildings, bridges and placing vehicles and people in the proper area to add realism to your railroad project.
Train accessories consist of selecting the buildings and structures, scenery, railroad people and pedestrians, vehicles, and paint. If you are modeling a desert you wouldn't want to use deciduous trees or coiffures but cacti and plants that are homogeneous. Before charging ahead with modeling your desert a little planning goes a long way. Assembling a list of the paint colors, selecting grasses and plant vegetation, and perhaps a few animals along with a few figures will save time and mistakes and make for a more realistic model.
Buildings and structures are available in all scales. They are made of either plastic or wood or a combination of both. They can be purchased assembled painted or unpainted or in kit form allowing for some customization. There are modelers who will build and paint custom buildings to your specifications. A variety of die-cast and plastic vehicles are readily available in all scales from Lionel, MTH Electric Trains, Bachmann, Herpa, Walthers, Motor-Max, and Woodland Scenics. Cars, trucks, construction equipment, motor cycles can be used to fill in streets, driveways, between buildings. You can use broken vehicles to create a junk yard.
