WBritain

Probably the most famous name in Toy Soldiers. W Britain, sometimes referred to simply as Britains, are one of the oldest and most respected makers of top quality toy soldiers on the planet. William Britain broke open the toy soldier world when he invented a new method to make hollow cast toy soldiers. This method cost less money and he was able to pass that savings onto his customers. Between 1893 and 1966, W Britain produced the most loved toy soldiers ever made. Many of our customers’ fondest memories are of playing with WBritain as children.

After 1966, W Britain produced more plastic toy soldiers than metal. Plastic Toy Soldiers were more popular in the late 1960’s and 1970’s. In the middle of 1980’s, Britain again began producing metal miniatures. These metal toy soldiers were solid metal instead of hallow cast. The success of WBritain metal toy miniatures began the modern toy soldier movement. As more people began collecting toy soldiers and military miniatures, the toy soldier makers starting improving their military miniatures to attract new customers. Exciting new poses, intense facial expression, and more detailed and more historically accurate gear and uniforms were added.

Recently, William Britain has been bought by Ken Osen, the famous toy soldier designer, and he is confident that best days of WBritain Toy Soldiers are yet come. Trains and Toy Soldiers is proud to be an authorized W Britain dealer and we hope you will leave a message for us here is you have any questions.
